CANON CES 2022

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF TOGETHERNESS

At CES 2022, Canon made a splash in Las Vegas, highlighting three all-new innovations made to enable creativity and the future of togetherness.

Exhibitor Magazine, Best of CES (Named #5 of the top 20)

The initial vision for the booth was laid out by our creative counterparts, VP CDs Tim & Niels. We joined to help build on the concepts, write all-new scripts and push design and ultimately execute the activation.

The booth was one of the largest and most bespoke footprints at CES. The experiences focused on live demonstrations and immersive storytelling around Canon’s latest tech innovations.

a story about collaboration, shaped by hundreds of people around the world

Born from hybrid work pain points exacerbated by the pandemic, AMLOS (Activate My Line of Sight) is a system designed to bring the flexibility of WFH together with the energy of in-person meetings.

The writers’ room was run by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the HitRecord team and powered by the AMLOS System — a powerful live demo.

One camera. Multiple lines of sight. Intuitive gesture-controls. All to bring spontaneity and creativity into hybrid collaboration.

The writers’ room gave remote writers a front-row seat to the brainstorm, whiteboards, and character sketches, allowing them to participate as if they were there.

THE FUTURE OF SHOOTING VR

With Canon’s new RF5.2mm F2.8 L Dual Fisheye lens, you can add a whole new dimension to your story. It’s a single lens that can be mounted EOS R5 and open up immersive video shooting to new creators. To show that off, we invited CES visitors into the world of New York City’s wheelie crews.

We worked on the first-ever shoot with the Dual Fisheye lens, giving visitors a taste of what is to come in the CD creative content space.

Within the CES footprint, visitors were able to watch the video with Oculus headsets and experience the lens output firsthand.

INTRODUCING IMMERSIVE CALLING

Welcome to Kokomo, where together is the ultimate destination. Say hello to realistic face-to-face VR with the technology that gives people a new way to be together, catch up, and explore new places. The Kokomo app combines the immersive 3D experiences of virtual reality, with the ease and excitement of video calling.

We wrote and shot the teaser for Kokomo a few weeks before CES, helping to lay out the vision for the revolutionary new calling software.

Within the booth, visitors got to try out a Kokomo call firsthand, interacting with a tech expert in sunny Malibu.
